Meet Matt Jordan
We would like to introduce you to Matt, our Data Administrator and Research Analysts
We’re delighted to introduce Matt, one of our Data Administrators and Research Analysts here at Our Rivers. Matt joined the team this June, shortly after completing his degree in Environmental Earth Science at Aberystwyth University, where he achieved a 2:1. He brings curiosity, focus, and a genuine enthusiasm for environmental problem‑solving.
A Day in the Life at Our Rivers
Matt’s role spans several areas across Our Rivers and our partner companies, which is something that makes each day refreshingly different. His time is split between guiding customers through the Our Rivers upgrade programme in Norfolk, researching and helping to develop a new phosphorus‑absorbing biochar, and carrying out mapping and nutrient budget calculations for Nutrient Neutral.
It’s a role full of variety, and Matt thrives on the mix of tasks and the chance to contribute to meaningful environmental solutions. One of his favourite parts of the job is the community within the office, a welcoming team that has made his first few weeks particularly enjoyable.
Life Outside the Office
Outside of work, Matt’s world looks very different. He volunteers as a fireman at a heritage steam railway in Mid‑West Wales, spending time in a completely different setting. He also enjoys heading into the mountains to explore the UK’s incredible geology, and when he’s not outdoors, you’ll often find him watching motorsport, especially WRC and Formula 1.
