We’re delighted to introduce Georgina Worton-Boughen one of our Environmental Consultants here at Our Rivers. Georgina joined us in September 2025 following the completion of her Geography BSc degree at Durham University. She is a friendly, bubbly and enthusiastic member of the team, bringing energy to the office.

A day in the life at Our Rivers

Georgina oversees the management and execution of our Norfolk septic tank upgrades. Her days are busy and varied, with her day-to-day roles including being the primary client contact, coordinating legal documents with our legal partners, writing technical reports and overseeing the smooth running of our Norfolk contract. Georgina is very organised, detailed in her work and driven to provide the best for our customers.

Having worked in administration during her gap-year and with a strong grounding in the problems and mitigation of nutrient pollution from her degree, Georgina enjoys the combination of customer relations and administrative tasks, all for an important environmental benefit.

One of Georgina’s favourite parts of the job is working with our partners to ensure our work is delivered to the highest standard. She enjoys problem-solving, the collaborative working environment and is always on hand to advise customers through the process.

Life Outside the Office

Outside of work, Georgina loves being active and exploring the countryside with her rescue dog, Luna the labradale. Whether it’s hiking up a mountain in Wales or a long walk (with a well‑earned pub stop!) in the Shropshire hills, her hiking boots and muddy wellies are never far away.

Georgina also is a keen runner, regularly running after work. This year she has been trying out trail running and has committed herself to the Shrewsbury half marathon…better get training!

Alongside her love of the outdoors and sports, Georgina is also a keen cook and baker. She regularly treats the office to homemade cakes and cookies and has proudly taken on the role of providing birthday cakes for the team.

Fun Facts about Georgina

Georgina has plenty of interesting experiences to share:

  • She spent her first university summer working on an organic vineyard in Bordeaux, learning about sustainable land management and organic practices.

  • She was captain of her rowing club at university and later became head of sports for her college.

  • Her three must‑have items on a desert island would be: cheese toasties, her electric blanket (desert nights are cold!), and her running trainers.

Why Georgina Loves Our Rivers

Georgina would describe Our Rivers as pioneering and approachable.

We’re thrilled to have Georgina as part of the Our Rivers team. Her enthusiasm, dedication and positive attitude make her a fantastic asset, and we’re excited to see her continue to grow with us.
